We've recently returned from Iquitos, where we hosted a medical mission team at our Latin America ChildCare school. (Salud, the word used in the title, is Spanish for health.) The team was from TimberlineChurch in Fort Collins, Colorado (http://www.timberlinechurch.net). They were 30 hard working people with purpose. In Iquitos, on the Amazon river, among the poorest of the poor, hundreds of people received medical treatment and over 100 received salvation! It was an incredible experience--especially following the 100 salvations we saw with our last missions team just a few weeks ago. God is moving in Peru!
In Luke 4:18-19, Jesus says, “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
That is what we saw this week! It was the realization of our dreams for ministry in Peru. We are grateful to God and our friends. Hallelujah!
